Selection of Domain Name extensions

 Domain names are available in different categories like .in, .us, .au, .jp, .sg. ch, depends on countries. In India it is available in .com, .info, .biz, .net, .org; .in. There are several web hosting companies provides registration.  The registrar maintain the records to the registry. 

1. The registration of domain name for business purposes need to register with .com, .net or .org. These extensions are used for non-profit organization only.

2. Incase you needs to register your domain worldwide than you needs to get the registration with .uk for UK, .jp, fro Japan and .fr for France.

3. The government and non-government organization, institutions and companies because in the Internet many top-level domain names .In  or .org identities.

4. Sub-domain is not actually a TLD but is a part of the domain.  You can get the “N” number of sub-domain under one TLD. We have seen many website, where we get many sub-domain names are exist.

5. ICANN an international organization who review and manage and provide the TLD has just allow the other alternative TLD such as .pro, .aero, .coop, .info,  .biz, .museum, .name.
